Future plans

Future plans December 23rd, 2013, 8:30 pm by Mike
As for the future, I'm not completely sure where the game is going yet, it depends a bit on what I encounter and what people's input is.

The order of this list can and will change constantly depending on my mood and what people ask for. There can also be that things on this list isn't going to be implemented and that things get added that isn't on this list.

Short term:
Complete the bug fix and performance run I'm currently doing to give the game a stable foundation to build upon
Display the female character in game for the ones choosing to play as a female

Medium term:
Chests
Planted trees will grow slowly
Chop down trees for wood
Fruit trees
Chickens
Horses (for breeding and riding)
Cows
Pigs
Preparation table (to make cakes, pies and other items)
Privileges for own land to let other people use doors or build/harvest

Long term:
Improve the look of grass
Music and sound effects
Complete the Oculus Rift integration
Add a 3rd person view

Very long term:
Tutorial
Quests, for example make specific items
Character progression and specialization
Hire in other people to help you with tedious tasks

Great list. Especially like the Plant/chop trees for gathering resources.

Thanks! I will probably add the dirt block tonight as well as fix some of the known issues. I'm hoping to be done with the "short term" things next week. A big part of the short term was the improved textures though, and that wasn't even on the list. So who knows :)

Some other things sneaked into the short term plans again as well as being ill for a week...

I'll look into the upside down slopes/stairs as well as the short auto corners next. I'll also add a "hedge" block for the gardeners out there :)
